Full Spectrum vs. Isolate CBD - What's The Difference?

It was previously believed that CBD in its isolated form was more potent and concentrated and just as good as full spectrum CBD, which isn’t really surprising since CBD alone by itself has pretty much all of the same healing benefits as the whole plant does anyway.

In 2015, a new discovery was made. During a study from the Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem, researchers administered full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate to two different groups of mice. When comparing the data of the two groups, the results proved that the group administered with full spectrum CBD were provided with higher levels of relief. Furthermore, the study demonstrated that full spectrum CBD continued to provide relief as the dose increased, while CBD Isolate did not provide the same effect when there was an increase in dosage.

Another important study relating to full spectrum CBD oil took place at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Hadassah School. It compared the performance of a full spectrum extract with one that contained isolated CBD only. The study concluded that full spectrum was more effective when fighting pain and inflammation.

The entourage effect is another reason that makes full spectrum so desirable. Full spectrum oil contains a variety of whole plant compounds not found in Isolate: CBD, CBC, CBG, CBN, THC, and THCV, also known as “The Big 6.” This term refers to the six most medically researched cannabinoids. All of these compounds have their own therapeutic benefit, and they combine synergistically to provide a far better performance than any single compound alone. I like to think of the entourage effect as a happy dance on the receptors of my body’s ECS, endogenous cannabinoid system.

Because Full Spectrum is whole plant, it is naturally also full of additional vitamins, minerals, fats and proteins.Vitamins A, C, & E along with complex B vitamins such as niacin, riboflavin, and thiamine, and beta-carotene is abundant in full spectrum oil. Minerals crucial to the body found in this oil include zinc, potassium, iron, calcium, and phosphorus.

And if that’s not enough, 20 amino acids including the nine essential ones, and essential fatty acids such as Omega 3 and Omega 6, which help promote better heart health, the optimal 3:1 ratio.

Hemp oil is even a good source of protein which helps repair and build tissues.

Why not spray it directly to skin rashes and skin conditions?

While full spectrum CBD has ultimately proven to be more effective than CBD Isolate and can be used to effectively treat a wide variety of ailments, it does not discredit the effectiveness of CBD Isolate. Your own personal situation should be the determining factor when deciding if CBD Isolate or Full Spectrum CBD is right for you.

CBD is a product that is completely natural and provides dozens of health benefits, with nearly no side effects. Hemp has been introduced to a world that desperately needs this special plant in all of its forms.

Understand that CBD from marijuana plants is only legal in medical or recreational states and you need a medical marijuana card, while CBD Hemp oil is legal in all 50 states under the 2018 US Farm Bill. If you cannot legally have THC, then you would want hemp derived CBD Isolate.
