Cells and CBD

Cells and CBD

The human body, amazing and beautiful, made up of trillions of cells, all of which have a very specific job to do. In recent years, research has led to the discovery of cannabinoid receptors in the mitochondria of a cell. This is true not only for humans, but for animals as well. Our cells are continually reproducing themselves and are always at work. At the heart of the cell is something called the mitochondria, aka the powerhouse of the cell. You can think of the mitochondria as the digestive system of a cell. It takes nutrients in and out and is responsible for producing energy and chemicals needed for survival. Cannabis compounds such as CBD and THC directly and indirectly affect the ECS, which is made up of cells, so keep using your hemp derived CBD oil. CBD oil promotes healthy cellular function in the body and is even involved with apoptosis or CELL DEATH. Mitochondria dis-ease in the cell is involved with many diseases throughout the body and when your cells are healthy and functioning properly the body will follow.

History has shown that cannabis has been used on planet Earth for healing dating back 10,000 years. Perhaps the role it plays in cellular function is what makes cannabis such a powerful healing plant for so many ailments effecting people every day. Healthy lifestyle choices, diet and exercise are all relative to healing oneself naturally. Often times it may even take a little bit longer to heal with functional medicine, but it is worth it. We encourage you to always do your own research. Ask questions, stay informed and up to date on new research and as always keep your immune system healthy.
